Festival Security Officer

Location: Auckland On-site Full-time / Event-based

About the Role

This is a full-time on-site role for a Security Guard based in Auckland. A Security Guard at Palisade Security will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment during events by providing access control, crowd management, and general site supervision.

Additional duties include assisting with gate and ticketing processes, conducting patrols, maintaining situational awareness, reporting incidents, and working collaboratively with event staff, organizers, and patrons. The role requires professionalism and the ability to perform effectively in high-energy, fast-paced event environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Access control and credential checks
  • Crowd management and flow monitoring
  • Gate, ticketing, and entry support
  • Site patrols and strong situational awareness
  • Incident reporting and escalation when required
  • Working collaboratively with organisers, staff, and patrons

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to handle dynamic event environments and work respectfully with organisers, attendees, and team members.
  • Knowledge of physical, personnel, and private security principles, as well as on-site procedures, to ensure all security protocols are met effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage access control and oversee crowd management strategies professionally and calmly.
  • Physical fitness and endurance to handle long working hours, outdoor environments, and dynamic physical responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in incident reporting, compliance protocols, and risk identification is desirable.
  • Previous experience in security services, especially in event or festival settings, is a strong asset.
  • Availability for flexible work hours, including weekends, evenings, and multi-day events.

Good To Know

We roster based on confirmed client bookings. Early on, shifts may be a mix of one-off jobs and multi-day events — with more consistent hours available as bookings increase.
